I am Doris McDonald, a Past Department President with many years in the same Auxiliary.  Cancer Aid & Research is a very important program.  I am a Cancer Survivor and have been Cancer free for 10 years because of early diagnosis and early treatment.  It does work, along with Cancer education.  The more you know, the better you can handle the shock if you are diagnosed with Cancer.  The American Cancer Society is a good source for information and they are always there for you.

Early signs of Cancer are:  1 – Change of bowel movements or discharge; 2 – A sore that doesn’t heal; 3 – Unusual bleeding or discharge; 4 – Thickening of a lump in the breast or elsewhere; 5 – Indigestion or difficulty in swallowing; 6 – Nagging cough or hoarseness.

Cancer Pin Program:  “ROSIE THE RIVETOR” says “WE CAN CURE IT”.  The Cancer pins are $2.00 each, so please participate.  The pins can be sold to, and worn by, members and non members.  Plan a special function with the proceeds going to the Cancer Fund as our quota of $2.00 per member hardly covers our Cancer Grants.  The more we contribute, the more we can bring back to California for Research.
