Hello Everyone! I hope you re having a beautiful VFW Day!

This month the focus is on Assistance Awareness.  Only a handful of non-profit organizations offer grants to cancer patience. The Ladies Auxiliary VFW is one of the few. This is why the Ladies Auxiliary VFW designed and makes available the Cancer Grant.  It is a tangible way the national organization can say “We Care About You”.

The C of  A  set forth the rules that strictly govern the grants, which are available in three amounts: $300, $400 or $500 dollars. The Cancer Grant Coordinator at HQ can only distribute the grants based on diagnosis, hospitalization, surgery and treatment. A specific amount cannot be requested and the coordinator who issues the grants faithfully abides by the terms in place.

How do we get a grant?  You may contact your Auxiliary Treasurer for the application or if you have a computer you may go on line to the Department of California website. www.lavfwca.org. It is a two page application. Print a copy. You no longer need to use the Yellow Form.

Once you have the application be sure to review the entire form before you fill it out. Note: there is a section that must be filled out and signed by the attending physician. Send it in as soon as you can. Every application is stamped upon receipt at HQ and processed in the order received.

Flip Flops!  We have them ready for you to take on consignment. Sell them in your Auxiliary and District to raise money for Cancer Aid & Research.  If you crochet and want to help make them I will provide the flip flops and fun fur yarn. Contact me for more information

Cancer Pins! If you haven’t made payment for the pins you have on consignment please send the money for your donation in as soon as possible.

Bra Contest! Due to conflicting schedules District Presidents are asked to bring your bras to our C of A after the New Year. Date to be announced.

Reports! You are doing a wonderful job of reporting.  Keep them coming, I love reading them!!
