What is a Historian? Our National Historian Kathryn Schreiber describes a Historian as a “Guardian of Memories”. A very important part of an Auxiliary or District is a chronological list of events in a written form. By recording recent and past events, historians are creating a book of “memories” to use as a great membership tool. By adding photographs, memorabilia, and newspaper clippings to the written story, this can help educate and draw new members to this great organization. It is the duty of the Auxiliary and District Historians to report important events to the Department Historian. A great event to report is the Official Visit of Department President Judy Jones. It is the official duty of the District Historian to record the events and forward the report with photographs within 2 weeks following the Official Visit to the Department Historian. Congratulations to all the newly appointed District and Auxiliary Historians. I look forward to receiving your reports and pictures for President Judy!! “Protecting Veterans Entitlements with Service ~ Honor ~ Respect”
