Greetings Sisters,

Sisters, thank you to all of the Auxiliaries that have sent in their reports; however, there are some Auxiliaries that have not reported. You still have time to send in your reports so that we can be 100% in Youth Activities for Department President Sue Wells. If you sent in a donation for Junior Girls, Marie Klugow Scholarship, Girls Scouts, Snowball Express, etc., that is a report however you must send it to me for it to count. The recap of Auxiliary Reporting is available on-line under the Youth Activities page of the www.lavfwca.org website. Please let your Auxiliaries know their current standings and what they have to do to be 100%.

As you are aware, due dates are fast approaching. Is your District President, District Chairman, Auxiliary President, Auxiliary Chairman, Auxiliary Members or the Youth in your communities going to be left out of the many awards this year because you did not report or adhere to the following programs offered by the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW ??.

In my February article I listed the following due dates and qualifications for the following Programs:

· Junior Girls Scholarship –To me, Department Youth Activities Chairman by March 25, 2010.

· Patriotic Art –To me, Department Youth Activities Chairman by April 15, 2010.

· Marie Klugow Scholarship - To me, Department Youth Activities Chairman by April 15.

· Snowball Express – Ongoing.

New Listings:

Youth Groups Supporting Our Military Heroes – Awards are available from the VFW supply to recognize youth who support our military heroes. They come with a letter from the National President. You are encouraged to find ways to assist our youth to become involved in supporting our military heroes. Work must be completed by March 15^th and requests submitted to Department Youth Activities Chairman by April 6, 2010 to be received at National Headquarters by April 10, 2010. Awards will be given from Department to each Auxiliary with 100% or more. This program includes Junior Girls and youth in our communities. Please make sure that all of the above information is shared with your members.

Junior Girls Units – Congratulations to Auxiliary 4647 -17‘s Auxiliary President Sharon Hanson and Junior Girls Advisor Tammy McDowell for reinstating their Junior Girls Unit. They worked very hard and did an excellent job and I look forward to working with the unit again. If you have any young girls that might be interested in becoming a Junior Girl please contact Sharon at sharon60@ surewest.net.

Just as a reminder: ALL Junior Girls Units are to be inspected. District Presidents, please make sure that these inspections are completed and mailed to the 5 officers and chairman listed at the bottom of the inspection form on page 99 in the Department Program Book and keep one copy for your self.

National requires that all Junior Girl Units submit an installation report no later than June 30, 2010. This report is in the Program Book on page 100. If you can not locate one, please contact me.

Other Youth Activities – I want to express to you how important it is to let the community know about the Youth Activities Programs in their areas that could be of service to and give recognition to the youth. Ask if you can tell them about our Ladies and Comrades programs and see if they would be interested in participating in some of these programs. Get the word out about this wonderful organization and the great programs we have for our youth, Veterans and the community. Please support these groups when they tell you about them. Talk to the sponsors and see where you can be of help. As always if you have any questions please e-mail or call me.

Service to Veterans Is Love In Action – Thank You for all of the support through cards, telephone calls and e-mails to and for Ellis, he is doing better each day. Ellis in at the Montebello Care Center for his recovery and in his room on the wall, I have all of the many cards that he has and continues to receive every day. Words cannot express all of the joy you bring to our hearts. Comrades and Sisters you are Love in Action. We pray that God blesses you all and your families.
